About Us

Exploring the adventures that makes wine interesting and fun. We will
have American and International wine events that will delight your mind and your senses. The adventures will begin in October 2024. Planned activities include (1) basics of tasting wines; (2) history of winemaking; (3) viticulture (growing
grapes); (4) winemaker’s work (creation of wine); (5) grape varieties – differences around the world; (6) unusual wines; and (7) wine and food pairings. Special attention will be given to how soils, weather, climate, moisture, winds, geography, elevations, and slopes determine the quality of your wines. Look to our website (Wateringcanwines.com) for announcements and special invitations.

CWA is an integral part of, and partner with, Watering Can Wines (“WCW”), the retail wine, gift, and basket venue. Owners Dianne and Alex (wife/husband team) work together on all phases of WCW and CWA business operations to insure the best wine experience for our patrons. Dianne focuses on day-to-day retail sales and wine tasting and advice. Alex has his Level 1, Level 2 (with distinction), and Level 3 (with merit) achievement awards from Wine & Spirit Education Trust (“WSET”), a highly recognized international education venture headquartered in London, UK (www.wsetglobal.com). Alex bar tends every Friday evening between 5 and 7 pm and is ready to answer all your wine questions. When not serving wine, Alex can be found dealing with clients’ tax problems at Webb & Morton, PLLC, in Aberdeen.

Both Dianne and Alex have many joyous years of experience exploring wine in many beautiful and delicious locations, including, the Loire Valley, France; Monticello AVA, Virginia; Finger Lakes, upstate New York; Bordeaux, France; Rhone Valley, France; Provence, France; Tuscany, Italy; Burgundy, France; Campania, Italy; and last but not least, good, old Yadkin Valley AVA, North Carolina. Their shared love of wine, wine regions, the winemakers, and the history and geography of these regions has enhanced their married life greatly. They will share their wonderful experiences when you visit the Tyson-Sinclair wine shop and wine bar.

We invite you to experience one of the local Carthage hidden gems.
